Head of Risk
The Head of Risk manages the Risk Department of Triple Jump, consisting of 4-5 dedicated risk professionals. The Head has a broad risk scope, both corporate as well as risks regarding the funds and mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team, ensure sufficient capacity, provide coaching and development opportunities for team members, establish annual team plan (including kpi’s and budget);

  • Owner of all the risk processes, the TJ Risk Management Framework and Risk Matrix;

  • Holds a comprehensive risk scope encompassing corporate, operational and financial risks, including credit risk for the funds and mandates in emerging markets;

  • Lead the stress testing and scenario analysis for funds and mandates to evaluate resilience under adverse market conditions 

  • Ensure continuous improvement of risk awareness and culture within TJ;

  • Represent the risk function in several committees such as the Product Cctee, Fund Management Cctee, Audit and Risk Cctee of the Supervisory Board and the Treasury and Asset Management Cctee;

  • Act as countervailing power for the first line, the Management and Supervisory Board;

  • Oversight of projects on digitalization and process optimization re. risk management.

To this end, the Head of Risk works closely together with the other control functions such as Compliance and Internal Audit. In addition, the role has an independent reporting line to the Supervisory Board. As the expert the Head of Risk is involved in the decision-making process regarding strategic business questions and participates in overall company projects which impact colleagues globally. 

Job requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or related fields; FRM or CFA are considered as a pre; 

  • At least 8 years of experience with risk management within the asset management industry; 

  • Management skills, strong team lead; 

  • Knowledge of the AIFM Directive, additional MiFID knowledge is a pre; 

  • Can provide guidance and oversight on stress testing and scenario analysis for the funds and mandates. Proficiency in tools such as Python, R, or specialized risk management software would be an advantage;

  • Experience with risk governance frameworks and with setting up and monitoring risk policies and procedures; 

  • Knowhow of investments in emerging markets; 

  • Capability to report and advise to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board; 

  • Self-starter, strong personality, flexible and ability to work independently; 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills (contact with investors); 

  • Good communication skills, fluency in English both orally and in writing. Additionally, Dutch language skills are considered an advantage for this role;

  • In this position you are responsible for advising or informing clients on investments and therefore must be able to demonstrate that you have the appropriate qualifications.  At Triple Jump we require people in this position to have a DSI certification in line with the responsibilities of the role. To obtain this certification you may need to complete additional learning requirements.
